Marquette Versus Wisconsin | Both Teams Need A Big Win
By T.J. Bryce | Posted Thursday, December 6
Both Wisconsin and Marquette have had “interesting” starts to their seasons. In a nutshell, both of them are in desperate need of what the experts call a “resume building win”, meaning that both of them could use an early season win that stands out from the rest. Well, this coming Saturday will be there big chance, ironically against each other. Marquette was looking pretty decent out of the gate. Yes they played mainly lower-level opponents, but they still looked okay. Then they ran into Florida, and got knocked down. Literally.
To this point in the season, the Golden Eagles are averaging 72.6 points per game, good for a pedestrian 96th in America. Their rebounding has been even worse, averaging 39.5 rebounds per game, good for 159th in America, although they have never been a program known for rebounding. The Golden Eagles average 16.9 assists per game, good for 27th in the Nation, and their field goal percentage is also good, as they are shooting 48% from the field, good for 27th in America. Their two leading scorers have been, as expected Vander Blue Davante Gardner. Unsurprisingly, they haven't gotten much from anyone else. I thought Steve Taylor could give the team a shot of life at the start of the season and he hasn't played much.
I'm predicting a low scoring affair with Marquette coming out on top 64-56. Marquette versus Wisconsin tickets are available now.
